Returns Policy

You may return most new, unopened items within 45 days of purchase for a full refund except shipping costs. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you ordered one item but received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).  Specials/Sale items are sold as is and are not subject to returns.

You should expect to receive your refund within 10~25 business days of giving your package to the return shipper. However, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days) and the time it takes us to process your return and refund once we receive it (3 to 5 business days).

If you need to return an item, you must send an email to us directly at
support@thedistrib.com or on the Contact Us page with your order number and details about the product you would like to return. We will respond quickly with instructions for how to return items from your order.

If the order is our error, we will send you back a shipping label.  Otherwise, you will need to repackage the return in all original packaging and send back to:

Shipping

We can ship to US "lower 48" (excluding Alaska & Hawaii). Note that there are restrictions on some products.

When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.

Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based while others are based on dimensional weight. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.

So how do you make sure you're not being overcharged for shipping?

In some cases, we display flat rate shipping by the item based on current shipping rates. These rates differ from item to item based on dimensions and density.  We update these rates to reflect current market pricing. Additionally, our shipping calculators in the shopping cart for UPS and FedEx are very accurate for small orders of 1-4 items. If you have more items, and you feel the quote is way off, please feel free to contact us for a quote. Please include a list of the items you hope to purchase and the complete shipping address.

Shipping Cost

Why is shipping so expensive?  The cost for shipping may appear to be higher than anticipated by the item weight.  Our shippers are charging based on "dimensional weight" instead of the "actual weight".

Why is shipping so expensive?!?!

The #1 question we are asked by perspective customers is "Why is your shipping so expensive, the item only weighs 3 pounds?"

We would like to assure you that none of our profit comes from over-charging on shipping. We actually collect less shipping charges every month than we pay. In other words, we lose money on shipping. So why is it so expensive on our website?

The answer is simple. In 2015 FedEx, UPS and USPS started charging based on "dimensional weight" instead of the "actual weight". This means they charge based on the package volume, not the package weight.

If you think about duct fittings, they are by nature, large in volume and light in weight because they are designed to move air. This means that 100% of our packages are assessed using dimensional weight formulas instead of what they actually weigh. They are light, but they are large. Below are links to the different carrier websites explaining how they calculate dimensional weight. Please feel free to verify this information as you see fit.

FedEx, UPS.

Finally, some items we ship must be sent via freight due to their large dimensions and/or weight. As the weight density of the item decreases, the Freight Class and shipping costs increase.
